Council
The City of Salisbury is one of Adelaide’s fastest growing Council’s from a residential and employment perspective.
The City is home to large residential projects including Mawson Lakes, Parafield Gardens and The Orchard at Direk.
Salisbury is also home to Greater Edinburgh Parks which has been earmarked in The State Government’s 30 Year Plan for Greater Adelaide as the future growth of Adelaide’s Industrial and Employment land.
Covering an area of 1,200 hectares it includes the suburbs of Edinburgh Parks, Penfield, Burton, Waterloo Corner and Direk. Direk, situated in the heart of Greater Edinburgh Parks, is home to Vicinity Industrial Base.
Salisbury’s proactive attitude towards population growth, employment growth and development is a driving factor behind its growth. Whilst Salisbury has always been the traditional home to two of South Australia’s biggest industries, Automotive Production and Defence Contracting it is seeing itself in a new role as the Transport and Logistics hub of Adelaide.
The recent openings of the Port River Expressway and Northern Expressway along with the Government Support of the proposed Northern Connector have seen Salisbury become one of the most well connected distribution locations in Adelaide.
