Toll NQX commit to new facility at Vicinity Industrial Estate

National Property Developer, Walker Corporation, has today (Thursday 28 January 2010) announced that Toll NQX have signed up for a 20,000sqm block of land at their 100 hectare Vicinity Industrial Estate project in Adelaide’s north. Walker will design and construct a new warehouse and office facility for Toll NQX at the estate.

The new Toll NQX facility is positioned on the corner of Edinburgh and Heaslip Roads at Direk (25km north of Adelaide), just 3km from a major entry point onto the new $560m Northern Expressway, ensuring easy access to the main freight routes in and out of Adelaide.

Executive Chairman of Walker Corporation, Lang Walker, said that the location of Vicinity made the site an excellent destination for the new Toll NQX facility.

"The position of our estate is an excellent location for transport and logistics businesses like Toll NQX – it’s close to major freight and transport routes and key transport destinations, including the Port and CBD," said Mr Walker.

"The government is investing heavily in transport infrastructure in the northern suburbs to facilitate this region’s designation as a new industrial growth corridor. That’s one of the main reasons we selected this site for development – this infrastructure will directly benefit businesses that choose to locate to Vicinity.

The state-of-the-art new Toll NQX Facility was designed by Walker Corporation’s team of industrial architects.

"This new facility for Toll NQX continues the long-standing relationship we have with the Toll Group, having delivered other facilities for the group in recent years. As with all our clients, we approached the development of this new facility as a partnership. We worked together to achieve a flexible design and affordable rental options to ensure their continued growth in the Adelaide market."

The deal for the new Toll NQX office and warehouse was facilitated by appointed agent, Mark Boylan, at CBRE.

Toll NQX’s commitment to the estate comes just as Walker finishes up a new 7,000sqm facility for Kimberly Clark Australia.

Executive Chairman of Walker Corporation, Lang Walker, said "The choice by big Australian companies like the Toll Group and Kimberly Clark to work with us illustrates our commitment to delivery and the strategic selection of our industrial sites on key transport routes and where the government is investing in major infrastructure."

Walker is confident of increased activity in the industrial sector in Adelaide throughout 2010.

"The commitment by Toll to the estate is a good indicator that confidence is growing in the Adelaide industrial market. The worst of the GFC seems to be over, and we are looking forward to improved market conditions over the next 12 to 24 months. We’re already in negotiations with a number of other companies for land at the estate, both local owner-occupiers and larger national companies."

"Vicinity offers both large and small users a flexible and affordable property solution. We’re keen to get deals done and work in partnership with businesses to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes," he added.

Land at Vicinity Industrial Estate is available for sale or lease, with land parcels from 5,000sqm to 50,000sqm +.

Walker Corporation is one of South Australia’s largest developers, with interests across the industrial and residential markets. Alongside Vicinity, the company is also delivering the popular new 800 home Bluestone Mt Barker residential estate in the Adelaide Hills.
